About Carter Dougherty from Canton Rep:
At Akron's Archibishop Hoban High School, a few of Carter Dougherty’s classmates took to the stage and fancied themselves as funny. Dougherty wasn’t impressed, and a stand-up was born. "I thought I was funnier, so I did it,” Dougherty said matter-of-factly.
A relative newcomer to the comedy scene, what sets Dougherty apart immediately from your average host or feature act is his deadpan delivery and risk-taking material. It’s part Mitch Hedberg, part Louis CK, part Doug Stanhope, and it seems effortless. Since taking to the stage just over a year ago, Dougherty has already featured for comedy veterans Jim Florentine, Bret Ernst and Annie Lederman.
